Standard 5: Assess, Provide Feedback and Report on Student Learning

Assessment of students learning provides valuable information for students, families and for teacher planning. Assessment is used to provide meaningful feedback and reports for all necessary parties. During my placement I have used both formal and informal assessment and feedback methods, including diagnostic, formative and summative assessments to guide my teaching based on the results gathered. I consistently develop assessment content and outcome specific criteria for assessments as a tool for diagnostic and summative assessment of learning in mathematics and science. I provide written feedback for marked work samples across all areas of the curriculum and provide verbal feedback during lessons to help students refine their understanding. I have assisted teachers with work samples to develop the end of year school reports.
